At the end of the animation you see the whole mass moving south (right), towards Svalbard and Franz Josef Land. Pretty cool, I'd say.

No wonder the ice breaks up fast entering the Fram Strait, the temperatures at Jan Mayen at 71.1° N, 8.2° W, have peaked around 7-9 C for the last 2-3 weeks, meaning that seatemperature must be close to that. Small islands are pretty much influenced by the sea surrounding them, speaking of temperatures...
