Yes, I agree that the DMI 80N mean temp has been a particular feature this summer.

BTW, DMI just launched a Polar Portal with some new features on Greenland ice sheet as well as Arctic ice surface temperatures:



I'm not sure what to make from the ice temperatures, and I have not seen much information allowing comparison of this.

my assessment of the U-Bremen map is that there is probably an "ice free" Northern sea route open now north of the islands.

And *now* DMI-temps-north-of-80 really does 'choose' to go significantly above the seasonal norm, for the first time since about day 140.
